Donations

YALSA offers many opportunities to support YALSA. You can make a donation to support:

  • The Friends of YALSA FOY supports YALSA initiatives and services that impact the profession and teens in five action areas: advocacy, continuous learning, planning for the future, research, and teen literacy and young adult literature. Donations to FOY support a different action area each year. 2010 donations support advocacy. FOY has funded YALSA's annual Spectrum Scholar, Emerging Leaders, and Library Advocacy Day stipend winners. Learn more about how to become a Friend of YALSA.   • YALSA's Leadership Endowment Established with donations from past YALSA presidents, the YALSA Leadership Endowment generates income to support the development of future leaders in YALSA and the profession. YALSA’s leadership recognizes that the importance of establishing an endowment to generate permanent interest/dividend income which can be used to support specific leadership development initiatives such as scholarships, fellowships and awards, mentoring programs, leadership institutes, travel and workshop grants, and so on.   • YALSA's Bill Morris Endowment for Young Adult Literature Established by the late William C. Morris, a publishing executive who championed libraries, the Bill Morris Endowment supports reading initiatives at YALSA, including the Young Adult Literature Symposium.  Learn more about the Morris Endowment, including how to donate.

Make your tax-deductible donation in either of the following ways:

  • Donate by credit card at the ALA Development Office's secure website. (Fill in the amount you would like to donate in the YALSA box of the "ALA Divisions and Offices" section).
  • Send a contribution by mail, using the printable mail-in form (PDF). Complete the form and mail it back with your donation to: Friends of YALSA, 50 East Huron, Chicago, IL 60611.

Planned Giving

Many YALSA members spend their lives passionately involved in the library community and may find that including YALSA in their estate plan is the best way to carry on this lifelong commitment.
