Welcome to ALSC's Born to Read national early literacy initiative!
Born to Read, It's Never Too Early to Start! has been completely redesigned to help expectant and new parents become aware that reading to a baby from birth is critical to every baby's growth and well being.
This site is in its "infant" stage, so please continue to check for helpful resources directed to new parents and the librarians who serve them.

Born to Read Brochure
The new Born to Read brochure offers tips to parents on reading to their baby, as well as a suggested book list. Click here for information on how to order the new brochure.

Born to Read Brochure in Spanish
A new brochure in Spanish may be printed. For best results, use 8-1/2" x 14" paper. Open the printed sheet and fold the paper down the middle; then fold both right and left flaps toward the middle fold.
